My Life-Changing Journey to Actress Hayley Mills

For all you Hayley Mills’ fans – basically all ‘baby boomers’ and many others both older and younger – this story may be of special interest to you. If you are like me and really admired Hayley for her roles in Disney’s films: Pollyanna, The Parent Trap, In Search of the Castaways, Summer Magic, The Moon-spinners and That Darn Cat, (as well as other favourites such as Tiger Bay, Whistle Down the Wind, The Family Way, The Trouble with Angels, The Truth About Spring (aka The Pirates of Spring Cove), Gypsy Girl (aka Sky West and Crooked), The Chalk Garden, Take a Girl Like You and Pretty Polly), you know what royal acting blood she inherited from her famous father, actor Sir John Mills. Her acting ability was acclaimed back then and still is today. Her long list of credits includes stage, television and movie roles which have continuously spanned the years. She continues her acting career with her most recent and current role of Caroline in the TV series ‘Wild at Heart’ set in South Africa. In May, June and July 2012 she is touring England with the play ‘Ladies in Lavender’.
However, the story in my book ‘Finding Hayley Finding Me’ is not about Hayley Mills’ brilliant acting, nor about the famous family to which she belongs. It is not even about her life: either her successful professional life or her interesting private life. This story is about how Hayley impacted my life for 30 years and then how, when I saw a window of opportunity to meet her, I was driven to step out of my normal passive behaviour to forge the way to make meeting her happen. That was 20 years ago now. What happened to me both in my personal development and spiritual awakening as a result of meeting her on that December day 1991 (and on subsequent occasions) creates the body of this book.
For those of you who are on your own personal and spiritual development path I think you will find my story thought provoking and hopefully helpful. For those of you who just love Hayley Mills I think you will find the episodes of the encounters that I experienced with Hayley, as my story unravels, to be compelling reading.

This sets off a string of life-changing events taking her on a journey of self-discovery and spiritual evolvement as both women come to understand the roots of their strong connection. Dreams, previously seen as fantasy for Helen, come true resulting in a lifetime bond of friendship.”
